I love these guys! I love it when a band runs around and gives out stickers, talks to the crowd, etc. Self-promotion! THAT is the start of a professional band. It's refreshing to see the "disease" did not kick in and hopefully never will. You know that disease. The one that takes reality away from you and all of a sudden you are some rock god. Well, not these guys.
This Virginia-based band plays today's music. I know, I know...a lot of these bands are angry, i.e., Korn, Limp Bizket. But hey! These guys have talent AND not only that, they ARE young enough to be better as they go along. Lots of aggression, lots of energy, lots of rage. All that! They play what they want and they don't give a hoot what anybody says. This is refreshing. They are starting to gain internet popularity from mp3.com, becoming the featured metal act with their song "Two". I think that is cool too. The internet is really an innovative tool that a lot of acts need to utilize to promote their stuff.
20 Oz. Nothing consists of Chris Inlow on vocals, Nick Seetin on guitar, Dave on bass, Chris Scott on drums, Ryan Channon on guitar, and Mark Holt on keyboards, forming a band full of energy, metal driven fresh air. Chris grunts his lyrics out like that dude from "Disturbed". Then again, I like "Disturbed" so I really don't care. I like what I like, when I like it. At least they aren't getting on that 80's glam remake bandwagon.
These guys deserve a 9. Why? This CD is awesome! The production is clear. The overall band is tight. Those who know me will know that if a band is not fan friendly, you can forget about me buying any merchandise from any band and I don't care if it is Randy Rhodes back from the dead. If you suck to your fans, I boycott all merchandise buying and/or advertisement for that particular band. This band is fan friendly and much more. Get the CD. Listen to it. See them at Jaxx! (www.jaxxroxx.com). Support your local bands and remember, 20 Oz Nothing is up and coming and I am so glad I have this CD added to my collection.
