Description:
Second Shot Band was formed by vocalist Paul Axtell in the beginning of 2013. With influences such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet and others. Second Shot has been performing non-stop since its creation. Voted in early 2015 by Jacksonville Magazine "Best Live Band". They released their first cd “Loaded” in December 2015 which in includes legendary artist Pat Travers adding slide guitar on one of the singles. Second Shot is poised to have great 2016 and beyond. So whether it is a four hour gig or a opening act, Second Shot is at home at either venue.
Band Members:
With seasoned musicians such as bassist Tom Schaller who toured with several Nashville recording artists including Marty Robbins. Guitarist, singer, songwriter Greg Cuje who has performed with such artist as Randall Hall, (Lynyrd Skynyrd) Banner Thomas (Molly Hatchet) along with many others Greg’s slide guitar work and style was heavily influenced by Duane Allman among others. Guitarist Mike Owings has been a member of several southern rock bands and national acts that include: The Allen Collins Band, Molly Hatchet and David Allan Coe. He is a singer, songwriter and producer. Drummer, singer, songwriter David Feagle also has toured and recorded with two national acts. David was a member of the Danny Joe Brown Band and Molly Hatchet. Vocalist, songwriter Paul Axtell was heavily influenced by his brother Dave Hlubek founding member and guitarist of Molly Hatchet. After much success in the past with his band Mill Creek including 3 national magazine stories and several television appearances Paul created the Second Shot Band to keep southern rock music alive.
