Description:
Based out of Chicago, Illinois, Souljunky is an artistic collective that creates truly original alternative rock and roll. Their music has proudly been described by listeners on Jango.com as “Sweet” and “delightfully ethereal”. Perhaps this is due to the band’s influences covering many diverse genres such as northern soul, electro, new wave, hip-hop, house, shoe-gazing, funk, punk and rock and roll.
Band Members:
Two group members, Chris Hess and John Mott began writing and composing songs together over fifteen years ago. They both quickly took to each others sense of musical style and fused them into a current sound that is as captivating as it is fascinating. With this project the two are joined by John Vanderweit, who brings his wunderkind approach on Bass, and Grant Niebergall, whose rhythmic skills are undeniably proficient and supple. The contributions of these musicians individually aren’t necessarily as important as what they are now doing together as a whole.
