Description:
Once upon a time in the late 70's a young man by the name of Doug Wolff first played and sang Neil Young's classic "Old Man" to some friends. They were captivated by the uncanny similarity to Doug's voice and that of Neil Young's, not to mention his physical persona. This spawned the beginning of Doug's musical destiny as well as the advent of the band Broken Arrow (A Tribute To Neil Young). Broken Arrow has captured audiences in the Chicago land area for decades with a truly authentic musical experience. No other Neil Young tribute can touch how this band channels one of the greatest songwriters of our generation. This talented four-piece band covers the whole gamut of Neil's carrier, with everything from Buffalo Springfield, Crosby,Stills,Nash and Young, to his solo carrier and Crazy Horse. The listeners ear is treated to a plethora of musical styles from the blissful three part harmonies on "Helpless", to the grungy opening guitar lick on "Hey Hey My My". Neil Young's fans walk out truly contented, with an unexpected shot of nostalgia. While those are new to Neil Young's music cant help but be impressed.
Band Members:
Early 2010 brought with it a new line-up in the band and a more powerful one at that. Doug Wolff obviously remains as lead singer, acoustic and bass player. Multi-instrumentalist's Ben Abney and Jared Olson play lead electric guitar, piano, bass and vocals. Jason Schultz is on Drums. All members of Broken Arrow boast an enormous passion for Neil Young, each adding his own infectious and original playing style that not only complements the band but the actual style of Young's backing bands, especially Crazy Horse.
