The Mystery Band

The Mystery Band puts on an amazing show with a wide variety of music and is currently playing 4-hour shows at Ventura and Oxnard clubs in order to expand their exposure, and has already amassed an amazing positive response and loyal following.

Current projects include: Recording Studio project in Simi Valley to record a 10-song live demo for prospective festival promoters and club owner review, as well as writing original music.

Who We Are:

Lead and Rhythm Guitarist, Garry Boyer, is an amazing talent, and has played with the big boys, including ‘Huey Lewis and The News’. Garry’s signature custom guitars are an amazing sight to behold, as he plays behind his head with total ease.

Bassist Reed Burnham has been called the best bass player on the Central Coast, and he artfully glues the rhythm department and bottom end together with his in-the-pocket style while playing off of the lyric. Garry and Reed together are an amazing marriage of talent.

Lead Vocalist, Rick Zavadil has an amazing vocal range and his performances as lead man engages the crowds always. Rick has an uncanny ability to read the audience and get into their groove with his refined style. A true talent!

Richard Crawford has recently jumped at the chance to join the Mystery Band as Drummer. His experience is vast and he has played with many nationally known acts. We are glad for Richard’s inclusion and you will be too.

Last and not at all least is our Manager and Backing Vocalist Carolyn Boyer, also Garry’s wife. Carolyn has a heart of gold and keeps the train on the tracks.

The Mystery Band headlined by guitarist Garry Boyer and joined by Santa Barbara’s Reed Burnham on bass, Rich Crawford on drums, with Rick Zavadil vocals and Carolyn Boyer singing back ups, are rocking classic covers for their fans. A veteran of the rock world, Boyer has worked with Billy Preston and members of Huey Lewis and The News among other rock giants. Boyer is known for his heart stopping guitar riffs that dominate every performance.

Every Thursday Boyer hosts a jam session at Club Take 2 in Ventura from 6pm to 10pm.

The Mystery Band is also known as The Leftovers, with members comprised of artists from national bands. Catch them locally at Gigi’s, The Red Cove and in T.O. at the Famous Lounge. Check their myspace for dates and updates. – Joel Anderson
