Another Soldier Down formed in the summer of 2005 and have since then become a staple of the local music scene. Hailing from Worcester Massachusetts - Another Soldier Down is original, unique, heavy - yet refreshing. Their sound is truly one of a kind. Fuck all that poppy bullshit that you've been hearing on the radio - It's time we lead the musical revolution! Sure there are HEAVY bands out there - but guess what?!? All of their songs sound the same - its the same old pattern these days. Why don't you branch out and try to broaden your sound?! After all - this is America, the so called melting pot of diversity, as they used to call it - So we're pretty much taking all of our metal influences; melting it down and producing a brand new kind of metal where anything goes. Fuck critics, fuck reviews, we're three guys from the second biggest city in Massachusetts (Taxachusetts) - and we're making music on our own terms, for ourselves. For those that believe in us and follow our cause - thank you so much for coming along for the ride - we hope you're enjoying it as much as we are! Now - in case you were wondering how someone that's hearing us for the first time would describe our music, you just might get a kick out of this quote. It was once said by long time friend/roadie John Birdsy; that "Another Soldier Down is as metal as metal is metal". You get the picture.
Drawing influence from many different backgrounds and genres - Another Solider Down stands out from the rest of the crowd with their heavy riffage, growling vocals, and thunderous drums - all combined to bring a sonic assault upon your eardrums - destroying your cilia in the process! Consisting of Guitarist/Vocalist - Christopher Parks, Bassist - Allan De Lisle, and Drummer - Michael Harnois - Another Solider Down is a very well rounded three piece to say at very least. For only three guys - they sure make a lot of noise - and it can only be described as truly epic. Live shows are filled with intensity and high energy, always making it a point to involve the crowd; whether you're singing along or jumping up on stage - we want you to be involved!
Currently; Another Soldier Down has begun the recording process for their first full length, yet to be titled, release; scheduled for Fall 2010. Full of the same great intensity that fans have grown to love, they will be pleasantly surprised with new material that has been in the works over the last month. "It's only a matter of time now" says Bassist Allan De Lisle. "The new tracks are fucking amazingly brutal and so fun to play, I feel that its definitely some of the best work that I have ever been a part of." "Fans can rejoice in knowing that the first three tracks are almost complete and will be up for your listening pleasure very very soon" says front-man Christopher Parks. "The tracks we have been working on are very diverse...we've been trying to expand our sound in a lot of different ways, not only for live shows, but behind the scenes. The album is going to be fresh sounding, something that most people are going to be surprised to hear - not to mention, quite heavy - quite brutal - quite honest. I'm not going to let this thing go until its ready, we're looking to do our very best work here, and not only do we want to impress the fans and the public - we want to impress ourselves"
One might ask what does Another Soldier Down stand for? What is the meaning behind the name? Well the answer is this - we stand for any one that has ever suffered and fought for what they believe - from soldiers over seas - to soldiers on the streets. The truth is that we are all soldiers in this crazy world we live in - every single one of us - from the lively to the fallen - we stand by you! Another Soldier Down - could mean anything you want it to mean - ask yourself - what does it mean to you? For Honor - For Strength - We Shall Rise!
