Band Members:
I've been playing over 30 years - started in CCM with a group called JC and Company. Later I did the guitar lesson thing to get my hands on some extra cash in college. Later I did some more CCM (weekends now and then) with Verne Bullock (a really talented singer songwriter from the early Contemporary Christian Music movement) and Arlan Scholl.

Stepped away for a while to enjoy my wife and kids and make some memories of what really matters - Picked up my guitar again a few years ago and haven't looked back since. I was working a hack-manager job for a local cellular phone company and had hired a guy named Adam Markum. Short story, we were all eventually booted out the door to make room for a new director and his his friends. I hadn't seen Adam for awhile. One night my wife and I were at a local pub (sitting at a bar) - and Adam was playing the hell out of the guitar and singing his soul out (he also plays the banjo and blues harp) - I owe a big "THANK-YOU!" to Adam. You were right Adam . . . If you want to do it, just do it!

I was sitting at a bar (noticing a theme here?) another night - and I ran into a friend that I had worked with at another place. I knew he played and I told him I was thinking about stepping back into the music. He gave me a card with Jim Duffy's name on. Jim owns All About Music. I became good friends with Jim and it went from just running thru songs together to talking about forming a band. Jim had a friend named Paul Welsch that was a vocalist-guitarist - he sat in with us and we hit it off and Stone Jelly was born.

At the same time I was playing guitar with Duffy I met Eric Larsen. We worked together and I heard he was a song-writer and guitar player. We got together to play a few times and our styles really played well off each other. Jerry Ridenhour (also owns a music store - Ridenhour Music - I'm noticing a theme here - music stores - musicians and sitting at a bar!) Jerry played hand drums. Jeff Maiden joined in on hand drums and together we became Tessellation. Later, took a break from that project and started playin' with Josh Cross and Jim Duffy. Josh was the lead guitarist for Madrone, we played until Josh got called up for active duty in the Army Reserves -keep your head down and be safe! Then Met DJ Hines - DJ played with us at Applebee's Salem - he is a great song writer and performer - started his own band recently and they are doing great - check 'em out "Bad Raptor" . . . About that time Renee began singing with us doing some back up vocals and quickly stepped it up to ass-kickin' lead singin' and we haven't looked back since . . . we are having a blast and wouldn't want to do anything else . . . and the journey continues!

And here I am - I've meet and had the honor of playing with several very talented musicians along the way. Jeff Maiden, Jim Duffy, Brad Taylor, Eric Larsen, Daryl Walker, Nathaniel Brandetsas, Randall Shaver, Josh Cross, DJ Hines, Anthony Martone - and even Neanderpaul and the list goes on. I love to grow and learn from everyone I get a chance to jam with - It's all part of the Grand Journey. I can't wait to see what is next . . . These are the good old days!
