Paul Baldwin Blues Band
After years of performing through out the U.S. with WC Handy award nominee Chris Beard, Paul Baldwin has stepped out with his own band - the “Paul Baldwin Blues Band." Paul knew he needed the right compliment of musicians that would give him the sound he was lookin for. After months of searching, he found the right combination in Ben Bach (Keyboards, & Vocals), Tommy Gunn (Bass & Vocals), and Mike Shapiro (Drums)
Ben Bach has credits that include playing extensively through out upstate N.Y. in bands such as "ACOUSMA ", "Fred & the EDS" , and "Tommy Gunn and the Endangered Species" as well as opening for the Good Rats, Steve Ray Vaughn, John Cafferty the Beaver Brown Band, and Benny Mardones.
Tom O’Riley, better known in some musical circles as "Tommy Gunn", is a well seasoned musician. He has toured the USA and Europe with his own group as well as playing and sharing the stage with many famous musicians including, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Rita Coolage, and Branford Marsalis.
Tom is the bass man for the group and shares vocals with Paul and Ben.
Mike Shapiro, Mike has performed mostly in the Syracuse area for over 30 years. He accompanied the 76ers Drum and Bugle Corp. and received 1st place drummer in All County Band. His widely assorted professional career includes membership of the bands Fable ( rock and country rock), Lexicon ( progressive rock and originals), Adam's Apple ( all original funk, Phat Lip ( rock), Vista Cruiser (rock), Reggadellica (reggae), Yami Bolo (reggae) and Slang (alternative rock). As well, he has produced, managed and performed a "Tribute to Marvin Gaye" at the Symphony Hall which was televised on Adelphia Cable. Other credits include a performance at the Landmark Theater, " Woman in Love", the "Harvest Moon Fest" in Turin, N.Y. and laying the drum tracks for a documentary of Vietnam narrated by Martin Sheen. He is well known in the area for his gifted abilities and driving beats.
From supporting national acts such as BB King, Buddy Guy, Tommy Castro, Debra Coleman, and Susan Tedeschi to headlining, Paul Baldwin has made the next transition in a promising musical career. Playing a “no holds barred, take no prisoners” type of Blues, the Paul Baldwin Blues Band is powerful, melodic and soulful. The music pulls you in and captures your senses.
