Apart From Fear

Apart From Fear is a solid metal band that formed in Arab, Alabama in the summer of 2005. Although the band changed names, one thing always stayed the same, the founding members. The idea to create something new and original came to both Josh Medlen and Kyle Page while in a boat fishing. Both of the founding members had previously worked together in other bands and at the time were looking heavier. As they began to construct their songs, it was quite easy to see that the music was original and metal. Gary Murphree soon made the audition for rhythm guitar. Page, along with Murphree began to write songs that were as complex as they were heavy. AFF went through many drummers and bassist. It was when they found Nate Hopkins on drums and Buck Rocks on Bass, they knew what they were looking for. AFF worked hard to create their music and felt their home recordings were not showing the full potential of their music. In the fall of 2008, AFF found themselves recording with Clark Walker at Absolute Artist Recording Developement Studios in Arab, Alabama. It was there they would begin to unleash the potential of thier metal and soon the world would come to experience the sound of Apart From Fear. They released their self-titled EP in late January and it quickly drew attention from friends, fans, and people within the music industry. Apart From Fear, in only three months, had signed with Deka Records to distribute their music internationally. Deka Records released their self titled debut "Apart From Fear on December 8th of 2009 and is currently available on iTunes and Amazon. With radio promotions and tracks being played on popular radio stations like HardBeyondDriven.com and MetalHeadRadio.com, AFF hopes to become one of the hardest hitting bands to come out of north Alabama. Medlens vocals not only temp to break the barrier of the "brown" note but they are mixed with high screams that make you wonder if they are really human.

You can truly feel Buck's bass lines deep inside your chest. Enough that your heart is unsure if it is pumping or if it's just the music.

In short, we are a Metal band with multiple influences and we bring you our masterpieces served on a platter loud and full of flavor. We hope to bring you enough variety and plenty of choices for you to enjoy!
