Description:
The Back Forty Band specializes in traditional bluegrass/bluegrass gospel music. Our main objectives are to preserve bluegrass music by presenting it in the same way it was done years ago and to glorify God everywhere we play. We are strictly traditional, even down to the way we dress for a show. We use all acoustic instruments such as the banjo, mandolin, fiddle, acoustic guitar, dobro, and stand-up bass. Most of our members are younger, but we were taught by older bluegrass musicians that have been doing this for many years. We strive to play and present the music in the way it was intended to be heard.
Band Members:
There are five members in the Back Forty Band. Jasen, our guitar player, also plays the fiddle and sings lead vocals on some songs. J.D. is our banjo player. He also plays some guitar and sings lead and harmony. Our dobro player, Tommy, helps out with the harmony as well. Clint plays guitar and mandolin. Karen plays the dog house bass and sings harmony also.
