Description:
Memories of Dreams Forgotten was formed in December of 2000. Based out of Northeastern Ohio it is made up of a group of friends who feel the music scene needs more then just your average melodic/death/prog/stoner metal bands. MODF incorperates many styles into their music such as classical, jazz, rock, latin, alternative and new age.
Each member brings their own style into the mix trying to create something different with complex songs. However this music may not be for everyone. It takes an open mind to listen to and like MODF and most songs are written in overture format so hearing the same part over and over may be out of the question.
Why would MODF play a style that the general population may not like you ask? By doing this we offer variety to the music scene. We can't have 90 million local bands all playing songs that sound like another, so in turn MODF tries to stay as far away from other bands style as possible. Overture is a classical form of writing not used much due to studies showing people generally like songs they can remember within a few listens. The verse chorus verse style of writing (witch most bands stick to) has shown to be the most popular format and easy to write and remember.
MODF takes complex to a new level by not repeating verses or having choruses. MODF offers both clean and death metal vocals, thrashing guitar riffs, clean crisp melodies, and a wide range of beats that correspond to the music. With songs ranging from mellow somber feelings to pound someones face in, MODF feels that there music has a little bit of something for eveyone.
