Description:
Formed in Early 2006 Afghan Banana Stand has fast become one of Maine's premier punk bands. Their influences include the likes of NOFX, Nirvana, Sublime and Bloodhound Gang to name a few. In 2007 they self financed their debut EP Brazilian Bikini Tan which has been played on numerous radio stations in Maine and the college station WPTC in Pennsylvania . In August 2007 they opened for the band Streetlight Manifesto at the Station in Portland, Maine and in March 2008 for The Jonee Earthquake Band in Manchester, New Hampshire. The band is currently in the process of booking a summer tour throughout New England and preparing to record a new album. They are currently signed to the garage label Hoodsup Records but are always on the lookout for bigger and better opportunities. The band has been in its present incarnation for two years with Vint Whitcomb on Vocals, Paul Staples on Guitar, Aaron Mitchell on Bass and Austin Turner on Drums.
