Description:
Zion's Hill

Zion's Hill formed in 2000 with the call on our lives as individuals to collectively come together as a music ministry. We felt the need to use our musical talent to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our vision in the beginning was to help plant the seeds of the gospel into the lives of people that God placed in our path and that vision still remains the same.

We began working on the first ZH album titled "The Price" and completed it during the first year. The songs on "The Price" album were more rooted in praise & worship with a mix of blues and rock. It was the beginning of the evolution into the sound that defines us as Zion's Hill today.

With the first album in hand we began playing out at various churches and youth events distributing over 300 CD's. Elora Baptist Church in Tennessee, Paint Rock Valley Lodge, Athens Church of God, March for Jesus, Concord Missionary Baptist Church, Living Word Church, Mercy Seat Ministries, The Exchange, Finished Work Ministries, The Basement and St. Luke Catholic Church are some of the places that have been played throughout the past years. As a result of playing these shows we have had the overwhelming experience of seeing people both young and old accept Jesus Christ as their Savior during these ministry opportunities.

In 2002, Zion's Hill disbanded due to the desire of members to pursue other callings (musical, ministry, job opportunities). The transitional period was only temporary, however, and soon the band changed its name to NAIL. New members were added, the music style became heavier, and the vision was changed to become "Christian Entertainers" while still promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Nail continued playing various places still trying to serve the Lord. The Place in Ardmore, The Alabama Jubilee at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, and a few other local festivals were played as the band Nail continued. It was is struggle during the NAIL period to stay on track because the member door was always revolving. Various personnel changes and a distance from the original vision began to take it's toll on the hearts of the members of the band and we felt God's call back to the original vision.

In late 2006 Nail disbanded. Skott White-the first original member felt a pull back to God's vision for Zion's Hill. The decision was made to change the name back to Zion's Hill. The music style of Zion's Hill now can only be described as musical mix of classic influences such as , AC/DC, CCR, Dokken, Stryper, Petra, etc. , mixed with an influence of modern rock. Two of the members currently left to pursue other opportunities, but, Zion's Hill is intently focused on serving God with our music and still tapping into the fun of being a rock band and putting on a great rock show.
