Description:
Overdriven is fast paced, heavy groove, power metal band with simplicity meets intensity attitude. What separates Overdriven from the rest of the pack is how easy they are to understand and appreciate. The music through its power groove and melody is a change in what typical metal bands are creating and raises the bar for heavy metal music. Overdriven was formed in the early spring of 2006 as The Sub-Basement Project. They formed as Joey Menella (Rhythm/Lead guitars), Ray Drury (Drums), and Sean Noone (Bass Guitar). The Sub-Basement Project started with Joey and Sean as Writing/Jam sessions in Catlet, Virginia. Ray was then added as a drummer and additional writer when other drummers could not keep it up. Their practice spot was changed to Fredericksburg, Virginia. Once Ray learned the songs Joey and Sean already had, they began critiquing the originals and cranking out new material for the masses. In August they recorded a live demo at Nissan Pavilion that consisted of 7 songs. Each song is as unique as the next and finds a way to keep it basic without becoming boring and repetitive. The demo is all music with no vocals and has been used to try out vocalist and to promote the band. So far they have had no luck finding a singer with the ability and presence needed to front this lineup. Since the recording they have played a couple of shows at Jaxx Night Club and East Coast Billiards to die hard fans and won over those that have never heard them before. As of now they have 10 original songs written and are looking to play anywhere to get the word out about their band and to find the right front man to take them to the next level.
