Description:
Smokey the Giant released their five-song demo, " Lonely City", in June and has been making the rounds of Central California's most notable music venues ever since, including an appearance at the Monterey Rock Wars Finals as well as shows in Salinas, San Jose, and Monterey. Their sound personifies music at its highest level without compromising or negotiating who they are as a band or as individuals. Smokey the Giant is definitely on the up and coming side of the indie music scene and they will be back in the studio to start production on their next project in October 2007.

Smokey the Giant was formed in November 2006. The four members - Darin Edu, formerly of Fumato (Lead vocals and guitar), Josh Ehle (Back up vocals and rhythm guitar), Dave Wynegar, formerly of Savoy (bass guitar), and Aaron Parrott (drums) - are the newest indie rock band to hit the Monterey Peninsula. When a punk rock enthusiast, a hair metal fan, a rockabilly devotee, and a progressive rock aficionado join forces, the sound is undeniable inquisitive electricity.
