Description:
A Post-Hardcore/Alternative Rock band hailing from the forgotten borough of Staten Island, New York, A New Shade of Black consists of four aspiring musicians with vastly different influences and tastes in music. From Jazz-Fusion, Funk, and World Music to Hardcore, Punk, and Metalcore; their songs all have small pieces of each. With vastly different tastes in music come vastly different minds in terms of the mission or goal of the band. For some, it is a way to grow as musicians and have fun. For others, it is to deliver deep and intelectual messages to societies everywhere. With a very small hardcore scene in NYC, not to mention being very young, A New Shade of Black remains ever vigilent with their music and their styles.
