Left of Center believes that metal, and music in general should be about creativity, applied music theory, style and creating music, not reusing it.

The band was conceived when vocalist Eric Davidson and guitarist Jeremy Dombrock began trading rhythmic and melodic structures. The ideas were put on the computer, but the energy wasn't there. Knowing the passion for music was shared by long-time friends Michael Freburg (former guitarist) and Jon Ruud (Drummer), the band was now four strong. While in search for a bassist, the structures for Pride, Careless and That Day (a song recently dismissed by the band) were written. Dombrock had posted a flyer at a local college requesting a bass player and soon afterwards received a call from an 18 year old, who was unmatched in the band's eyes. The band began playing shows locally and are honored to have shared the stage with national acts Drowning Pool, Dry Kill Logic, 10 years, Bobaflex, Destrophy, Opiate for the Masses, as well as fellow local bands. The songs were being cranked out as fast as the minds were creating them, the songwriting system (a family secret) had been established, fans were multiplying, reviews were written and a four song E.P. was cut at RealTrax Studios in Davenport, IA. The band is now hard at work, developing new song structures, mangling them to their tastes, and even tearing into old ideas and motives. Left of Center is playing regionally (check this page and/or www.locmetal.com for show dates) and should be playing (on stage and on windy precipices) in a town near you soon.
