Description:
Tugnut’s early beginning was that of a high school cover band in the middle of nowhere Fort Frances, Ontario (pop. 9,000). Once the decision was made to change the line-up and relocate to Southern Ontario, a serious and focused band emerged. Working hard to write what they feel is “meaningful and interesting music”, Tugnut hit the road to spread their music to the masses. With several national tours as well as shows into the United States, Tugnut have been able to gain a respectable following with their “must-see” live shows. Self-described as “colorful-metal”, others have compared them as a mix of heavy Mr. Bungle with a touch of Converge and a pissed off Primus vibe. Tugnut has shared the stage with such acts as Kataklysm, A Perfect Murder, Chore, Ghosts of Modern Man, GFK, Fuck the Facts, Mico, 3 Inches of Blood, and Fordirelifesake to name a few. With their new album ode to Pete , Tugnut are gearing up to bring down some houses and bring up some spirits, one crowd at a time.
Tugnut is a metal band that knows their direction, meaning and principles. Making music that is important to them; these guys know that with practice, sacrifice, and dedication they can write their own page and carve their own path.
