Face To Glass, led by singer/guitarist Ben Powell come to fruition after the break-up of his college band, Life of the Common. A catchy mixture of Alternative Pop-Rock, Face To Glass is quickly making a name for itself in the Northern Virginia music scene. After suffering a few set-backs in termsWhat does Face to Glass mean? Imagine yourself at a store window, face pressed up against the glass looking at something you just "have to have" but there's glass in the way. For Northen VA based band Face to Glass, it represents success, just within sight but there's this invisible barrier keeping them from it. With their debut album "Shattered," filled with intensely catchy melodies, meaningful lyrics, and up-tempo rockin' tunes, they aim to do just that: shatter the barrier between them and the world.
Vocalist / guitarist Ben Powell notes that "it's not like we're trying to 'save rock' or re-invent it in any way. This is the music we want to hear, so it's the music we're going to write." After listening to the album, you will quickly realize it's not just music that they want to hear, but everyone across the nation will want to hear. Categorizing themselves as "Alternative pop/rock," each song is crafted as a pop/rock anthem with an alternative rock bite. Regardless of what you genre you call it, Face to Glass rocks clubs and venues with an energy seldom found nowadays, showcasing their musicality as well as their showmanship and tightness as a group. After suffering a few set-backs in terms he discovered John Hardwick formerly of Simply Something/Evergreen Terrace, Ben Scarborough and Matthew Wycoff to form what is now Face To Glass.
