Sawed Off Smile is very rhythmic and deeply exploratory heavy rock. The music fluctuates through pure human emotion, radiating the core essence of existence. They combine a very a original and diverse set, using a low range rhythmic guitar, off beat drumming patterns, both high and low range vocals, and more intricate bass lines, mostly similar to Mudvayne. They incorporate positive and negative influences of human life, Open mindedness, Ascension, and Free thought.

Originating in Ogden, Utah, S.O.S met while working on the same job together. Exchanging ideas and inspirational influences. (Tool, Rage Against The Machine, Mudvayne,Korn,Slipknot, and Black Sabbath are some of their favorite bands. They began as a threesome but later came to the addition of a more complicated drummer (Cody Peterson). Since then they have done a variety of benefit shows including: (March Of Dimes, Food Not Bombs, and a few for people with medical expenses. They have played at Kamikazes, Good Times Saloon, Bourbon Street, Kilby Court, Mojo’s, and the Rocktoberfestival. OH YEAH AND JUST FOR FYI, THE INFORMATION PAGE ASKS, (Do you have any original music?) ALL OF OUR MATERIAL IS ORIGINAL. WE HAVE 14 WRITTEN SONGS BY THE WHOLE BAND. WE HAVE ONLY PLAYED ONE COVER SONG OUT OF ALL OUR SHOWS.

Band Members:
Our singer is a intelligent kind of wierd lyrical god, no matter what beat or sound we through at him he can get the perfect lyrics to it. Our bass player is a musical master he writes the guitar and bass for 90 percent of our songs because he just never runs out of bad ass ideas in his head. We currently only have one guitarist but are "training" a second on our existing songs, our current guitarist isn't the most creative guy by any means but what he lacks in creativity he makes up for in willingness to learn and accuracy, once he learns the part that the bassist has wrote he almost never misses a beat. The newest member to our band has only practiced with us once but he impressed the hell out of me in that one practice, he is an awesome guitarist, and he also has great talent on the mixers/turntables so that a two-fur i am excited about getting him going on all of our stuff. And last as always is me the drummer, i basically like to keep fairly simple beats in the verse's but once the course and the middle breakdown take place i am all about balls-to-the-wall drums but at the same time not going off into a overpowering drum solo. The music part of our songs comes from myself and our bassist just jammin away till we find a few riffs & rythms that we like then we go from there and it usually ends up bad ass
