Description:
Jim Post, a singer/songwriter from Indiana is the poster child for what every performer should be. Music is not solely about skill, but about the vulnerability and isolation that accompanies it. Schooled in rhythm and lead guitar, drums, and bass guitar Jim Post accomplishes this feat with such ease and tenderness it’s simple to see the contradiction in the man and the music.
He has been playing guitar for over 13 years and has masterfully evolved as a skilled composer of original songs that paint lucid pictures of estrangement, loneliness and acceptance, hedonism and solidarity. He is a musical chameleon of sorts, able to adapt to any genre and style. His music is characterized by strong rhythm foundations, virtually flawless arrangements, poignant melodies and simple yet intelligent lyrics that have solidified his reputation as a composer of truly original songs.
Band Members:
Currently, Jim is working on his most recent album that takes us on an entirely new adventure that is, without question, the most diverse compilation of songs he has yet to write. A continuation and at the same time a deviation from his past work, his current songs are raw and delivery an honesty you won’t find with most other musicians.
To his acknowledged accomplishments as a songwriter, instrumentalist, harmony vocalist and arranger, his compositions are well featured in his concerts as well as in the performances and recordings of a growing number of notable artists.
Jim Post has toured with numerous bands over the years including Disturbed, Taproot, Chevelle, Unloco, and Rich Hardesty. He has performed at Purdue University (Where Else?), Ball State (Dill Street), Indiana University (Kilroy’s Sports Bar, The Blue Bird, Fraternities), Indianapolis (The Pario, Buffalo Wild Wings, Birdie’s), Negril, Jamaica, Toronto, Canada, HoosierMosa in Los Angeles for which he is also scheduled for 2006, and has weekly shows scheduled at Ugly’s Pub, Little Tavern and Sullivan’s where his faithful following of fans continues to flourish.
Most recently he won Round 1 of the Emergenza Music Festival in Chicago at The Note where he booked again for April 29th of 2006 and headlined the Don Vito Viva La Bam College Tour. His songs can be heard regularly on U 93 and U 95.
