October Episode is a band that is not afraid to take chances and are well prepared for what that entails. This isn't one of those bands that looks and sounds just like every other one of their label mates nor are they a part of some new trend. What sets them apart is what sets you and I apart, individuality and they use that to their advantage. Having been playing together for more than four years, a european Indie deal, countless shows including a promo tour to Ireland these guys know the amount of sacrifice and dedication it takes to make it and are willing and able. Musical and Aritstic development is not an issue with this group of seasoned players because they have found their niche, recognized the target and already have their eyes on the goal, greatness. The music is like a dark mystery novel that leaves you feeling vulnerable yet empowered. The lyrics draw on primal but modern cryptic themes full of double entendre on subject matters ranging from defeating self destruction and self actualization to sexuality, violence and intoxication. The strings have an odd polarity that is a definative factor in the band. Its not your normal heavy metal sound with a ton of guitar, the bass plays an equal role reminiscent of Primus or Rush with a modern heavy metal base. Most importantly this band is legit. A registered LLC in Colorado. They own the copy and publishing rights to their european release and have reliable legal representation. They might be rough looking but they are actually easy going and laid back except for when they get on stage.
Band Members:
Garth Edwinson vocals. Andre Chrihfield bass guitar. Gonzo guitar. Sam Johnson drums. Garth and Andre having founded the band found Gonzo on musicmates. Gonzo in turn found Sam on musicmates. All the members are very diverse and different in their tastes in music which helps add many perspectives when writing music. Garth being influenced by the likes of Manson, Slipknot and Korn to Jim Morrison and Sting. Andre listens to anything from Eminem, DIO, Rush, Primus and Mudvayne. Gonzo is a big Steve Albini fan as well as Korn, Hendrix and Chet Atkins. Sams influences include Jay-Z, M.S.I., Pink Floyd, Pulse Ultra and Refused. They met in 2002 made a CD called THE SILENT FILM at RUDYS STUDIO and have relentlessly been promoting and playing out in Denver, NM, TX, NE and Ireland.
