Description:
Who they are... The Wayward Sons are one of Central Texas' premiere live bands. They formed in the early 90's as a "for the fun of it" garage-band to a full-force live juggernaut. David is the last of that original lineup. Joel has been a "Son" since '97, and of course Clayton just got here...

About their music... Although classified as a country-rock band, these guys could easily fall into a number of different categories, depending on which night you catch them. They play traditional country, some Top 40, Texas music, rock and roll, polka, and some other stuff we won't get into here.

What they do... The Wayward Sons make every show fun. They are a party band, no matter the venue. From the tiny bars to the private wedding receptions to the big stages where they've opened for some big national acts, they always put on a great show.

Who they've opened for... Here's a list of big acts the Sons have opened up for: Sons of the Desert, Deryl Dodd, The Great Divide, Hank Williams III, Cory Morrow, Jerry Jeff Walker, Gary Allan, The Warren Brothers, Johnny Rodriguez, and that's just for starters.

Who's been along for the ride... Although David has been here from the get-go, there have been a handful of guys and a girl who have been in the band at one point or another. Here they are: Patrick Lednicky, Chuck Owen, Mike Marek, Sonny Tlustos, Gary Parma, Melinda Lednicky, and J.C. Pringle. Another person who also has to be on this list is on-again/off-again sound engineer Richard Lednicky.

Band Members:
Members... David Lednicky - Vocals / Bass Guitar Originally an acoustic guitarist, David switched over to the bass guitar to open new doors in his song-writing. A proficient songwriter, the "Sons" perform several of his tunes at each of the shows. There are several crowd favorites, including the always popular "Sunday Beer on a Saturday Night." David's influences range far and deepp, and he cites Jim Lauderdale, Don Henley, and Barry Manilow as some of them...

Joel R. Wood - Vocals / Guitars / Harmonica / Keyboards The most energetic member of the band, Joel puts everything he has into each performance. Also a talented songwriter, Joel has recently started doing more of his own material in the shows. Joel grew up on the big 3: Merle Haggard, George Jones, and George Strait, but as he's gotten older his influences have changed to include Brian Burns, Jack Ingram, and Bruce Robison, and the list after that is long and varied. Joel was also an acoustic guitarist, but is now the lead guitarist, but he and David still occasionally do some acoustic shows on the side, often showcasing a lighter spin on their full show...

Clayton Love - Drums / Percussion The "new guy", Clayton comes to the 'Sons with a lot of varied experience. He has played in a few different bands, including a Top 40 country band, a Tejano band, and recently a metal band which went way beyond what Metallica plays. Clayton says that at the time, he didn't care what the music was, just so he had the opportunity to be playing in a working band. Now, Clayton says this is more his speed, with the country and rock mix that the Wayward Sons are known for...
