Description:
With growling vocals, dirty guitar and pounding drums and bass, God speaks loud and clear through the hard rock music and the heartfelt testimony of The Pledge. Grabbing the attention of onlookers while focusing attention on their audience of ONE. Combining personal testimony and gospel inspired lyrics amplified to penetrate hearts and souls of any age. (Although some volumes are not suitable for adults.) “The Pledge” is a name that not only signifies a vow to Christ, but also a dedication to a “nation under God”. With their foundation built on God’s word and plan The Pledge continues to preach the gospel in the forum and volume that gets the worlds attention. God first, then family, then the band; the motto followed daily by 4 musicians playing music how God intended.
Band Members:
Mark Daniels-singer and bass player Mark first started playing the bass guitar when he was 12 yrs old, when his dad got him a bass for Christmas. Ever since then he has been playing the bass. Mark is also an accomplished singer in high school he was a three year letterman in choir and ensemble and he is also a member of The Ohio Capital Conference Honorary Choir. Mark joined the band in 2003 and a new life was opened to him.
Shawn Myers-Rhythm guitar Shawn started playing guitar at age 13 because his lady friend liked guys who play the guitar.(atleast he's honest) Now Shawn is a devoted Christian band member of The Pledge.
Cliff Spruill-Lead Guitar I can remember wanting to play guitar in a rock band forever but didn't know how to get started. I bought my first guitar in a small music shop in Marion, Ohio and started to take lessons. Learning songs by bands like AC/DC, Mountain, Rainbow, Judas Priest and Krokus confirmed my desire. My first real taste of playing in a band was the praise and worship team at First Love Church but having the desire to minister in a much Louder way. Finally I talked to a couple guys about staring a band and The Pledge was born.
Josh Dillard-Drums and backing vocals Josh started playing drums at age 10 with a vintage Ludwig set. Beginning with lessons from his father along with old Black Sabbath and Kiss cassettes Josh has taken his place as an accomplished drummer. His background in marching and jazz band also contribute to the multifaceted approach to his abilities behind the kit.
