Description:
Embient is a four man rock band out of Phoenix, Arizona. Hans and Jeff originally formed the band in early 2005; however, the two started writing music together early in their high school careers. As time progressed, the music started coming alive with more complicated and in depth songs. Hans was previously a member of a few other local bands which fell apart over time. With Hans originally on drums, and Jeff writing the rest of the music, the band lacked the ability to play live. After several run-ins with flakey, and unreliable musicians, the two decided to set off on their own to self produce and release ‘For What It’s Worth ©2005’. This was the first major release to the public of their music, and the feedback was excellent. Using the internet, and word of mouth, Embient had started the spread of wildfire of their free music release. The release spread as far as KUPD's 'Red Radio Underground', hitting airwaves several times in May of '05. This began the long search for a drummer and a bassist. Hans’ brother Brian stepped up to play the bass, picking up the music quickly, and adding in his own flavor. Although finding a bassist was fairly easy for Embient, finding a drummer was definitely a different story. The band spent a few months in search of the person with just the right style and skill level; as this was not easy to find. When the band ran into Seth, they knew they had found the right drummer. With its brand new members, Embient was able to combine its guitarists' writing styles to start producing a new kind of sound. Hans heavier influenced style mixed with Jeff's radio friendly riffs, started producing songs unlike anything ever heard before. The band hit the local scene in mid-July and the followings seemed to grow with each appearance. Embient is currently writing and recording new material. They plan to release a follow up album, which should be available sometime in the fall. In the meantime, the band will continue to play local venues. The future of this rock project looks promising, as it continues to grow and improve over time.
