EPIC

After nearly a year of steady practice, Monday through Friday, and constant writing and rewriting, they came across Rudy Tello who would be appointed their new lead singer. Finally, all the pieces of the puzzle fit together and Epic fell into the Houston club scene. With Carlos on bass, deeming the gap in the rhythm section filled, the band seemed complete. However, it appeared as though Epic's union with Rudy just wasn't meant to be. Matt and Carlos put their voices together in order to pick up the slack of losing their singer. After much deliberation and controversy, the band accepted Hannah Pearson as their new bassist. What was to happen next was nothing short of a miracle. In less than two weeks Hannah had perfected all the songs, Carlos was back on guitar, and Epic was ready to explode back into the music scene, to put on the best show of their lives every single time they stepped on stage, and to win Sugarlight's Production of "Battle of the Bands."

Over the year that has passed, Epic has participated in several other music competitions and played numerous clubs and bars all over Texas. Having won the battle of the band's grand prize consisting of $10,000 and recording studio time, they are about to begin work on their first full length cd. Keep all eyes and ears open because no one knows exactly what Epic is going to do next, but it can be concluded that this band is headed straight to the top.

Eric’s Bio

My name is Eric Smith. I was born in Wharton Texas, on August 19, 1986.. I graduated for Bellville High School in 2004. I started EPIC and I play lead guitar. I started playing guitar when I was 15. My biggest influences are Metallica, George Lynch, Slayer, Iron Maiden, and Van Halen “with Roth.” I love old school metal, classic rock, and blues. I have taught myself everything I know on my own. I love being on stage in front of people and shredden’ out on my guitar. I wrote and composed the majority of Epic’s music.

Matt’s Bio

My name is Matt Pearson. I live in New Ulm,Tx. I play drums for Epic. I started playing when I started high school and played in the marching band my junior and senior year. I have been playing for about 6 years now. My main influences are the bands that emerged around the time that I was growing up. That whole Seattle grunge movement. Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nirvana... And I also like today’s heavy and alternative rock. Some 80's stuff. I plan on becoming an independent drummer/percussionist and also run my own studio.

Carlos’s Bio

My name is Carlos Fernandez. I was born in Brownsville, Texas, on September 20, 1987. I attend Columbus High School and I am a SR. I play rhythm guitar in “Epic”. I started playing guitar when I was 15. My biggest influences are Metallica, As I Lay Dying, Slayer, and Pantera. I love old school metal, and new metal. I like playing guitar but I also like playing drums. Playing music is all I want to do.

Hanna’s Bio My name is Hannah Pearson. I'm the bassist for Epic. I was born in Houston, Texas on April 25, 1987. I've been very close to music all of my life. From church choir, teaching myself to play piano, middle and high school band (flute and percussion), taking guitar lessons for two years, a youth band, a couple of back yard bands, and now Epic... I've just about done it all. I was the kid that would go around during band practice at school asking to play other people's instruments. When I bought my first guitar, the day I turned thirteen, I had no idea what it was going to evolve into. I don't even know why I picked electric guitar. I just wanted to play. I found out later that just about every male on my mom's side of the family played guitar. Little did I know, the guitar was going to be the foundation for my skills on bass.
