Description:
Striving for a distinguishing identity felt to be sorely missing in modern-day everything, their writing process focuses on dynamic peaks and valleys, which are intended to underlie the often crestfallen yet epic feeling captured throughout their music largely considered to be a product of their depressed Youngstown, Ohio surroundings. Attempting to blend the at times immiscible styles of alternative, progressive, ambient, and hardcore together coupled with an appropriate sense of art and dedication to their craft is at the heart of Asleep. The listener can expect powerful melody implemented with thick but warm guitar tones, hallucinatory effects, atmospheric keyboards, colorful and driving low-end, hard-hitting percussion, and huge vocal endeavors all without the aid of one of those little machines you can sneeze a G major into. Sarcasm, seriousness, sincerity, and science all prevail lyrically, with such alliteration really unnecessary.
Asleep is now hoping to make their aforementioned collective dream a reality by being able to give back to music what it has for years given to them by touring the country and providing people with something they can relate to. Music is from the heart, not the pocket. Music is a soundtrack for our lives. The members of Asleep truly believe that, and know that their hard work will continue to allow them to do what they love for an ever-growing audience.

Refusing the worn out formulas of the current mainstream trends in favor of making the most genuine music possible is no easy task in today’s control C control V society. On the verge of the next step of their musical journey the untimely departure of their lead vocalist left the three remaining members of the former regional touring band Alias X (keyboards, guitar, bass) free to further expand on what was already becoming a fairly unique sound spreading to some of the most reputable promoters, venues, and nightspots across the northeastern United States. Upon months of searching an experienced new singer and drummer sharing the same musical ideals and life philosophies more than nobly filled the missing positions, and a name was finalized. Thus begins the story of Asleep…
