Description:
Check out www.TheHipNecks.com for music samples, pics, etc! Combining elements of Midwest rock, blues, Texas rock, jazz, funk, and even bluegrass, the five members of The HipNecks have conjured a sound all their own. Formed by several college students in 2003 days before a Battle of the Bands, the formula proved immediately successful as the band left stage that night with the first place trophy. In the months following, The HipNecks began a stream of high energy bar performances in Mid-Missouri performing around ten shows a month headlining venues ranging from The Blue Note to the holiest of hole-in-the-wall bars across the state, bringing houses down. With a new CD that had over 400 copies sold in it's first week, they are looking to violently expand the scope of their horizons and play anywhere, anytime. Instrumentation includes two lead vocalists supported by a third to exhibit often three part vocal harmonies. Further instrumentation includes acoustic rhythm guitars, lead guitar, harmonica, bass guitar, drums, hand percussion, as well as sub frequent use of a keyboard, banjo, and mandolin.
