At the end of 1 year Buried And Still Breathing has changed quite a bit... The band is driven by harsh and brutal breakdowns, and killer metal riffs combining for the sound of New England Metalcore. The screaming has expanded in multiple areas with the use of classic Hardcore gang vocals and the lead vocalist taking his range to all new heights. The addition of secondary lead vocals via the guitarist creates a excellent back-and-forth exchange on the major choruses. The songs themselves seem to endlessly improve in their construct and intensity as each member pushes themselves harder to be as explosive as possible. The recordings will most likely never truly capture the raw power and energy because much of it is found in the stage show. Keep your eyes and ears open, missing them play live is not an option.
Band Members:
The band Buried And Still Breathing was pretty much formed out of the ashes of Cipher Zero and a few failed attempts in between. Emerging 2 years after the members of Cipher Zero went their seperate ways, the guitarist (Josh) was in the middle of working with newly found drummer (Shaun) and I was recently released from the band called Tainted... after some jamming time... not much was really accomplished until a half a year later... when we entered into it with a new agreement and understanding... The actual birth of B.A.S.B. in it's current form was in the fall of 2004... Working with a revamped Cipher Zero song as our base... we constructed a few songs and then found a talented Bassist (Kevin). The spring of 2005 saw a few major changes with Kevin turning to guitar and Tyrus (former Cipher Zero also) joining the ranks as a bassist. The sound changed as the second guitar kicked in, and we turned to Kevin for a more balanced sound as he progressed in writing with Josh. The singing now gone, I focused on expanding my screaming ranges into different styles and heights, and we started implementing gang vocals for that traditional hardcore sound. In December of 2005, Shaun left due to conflicts within and outside the band. Shaun was quickly replaced by Ian, with whom we hope to continue into to our second year as a band stronger than ever. - Justin
