HARD DRIVE

Band Members:
Rob Canary - Drums

Native of Northern Michigan and attended Manistique High Scool, Northern Michigan University and Kirtland College. Rob moved to Traverse City Michigan in 1983 and formed his first Rock band "Lookin'Back" and becoming very popular in the lower Michigan area performing the National Cherry Festival and winning the 1989 "Battle Of The Band". Despite their popularity the groups members parted in 1990 and Rob returned to Manistique Michigan to "Chill" for a year then formed with a local Metal guitarist and Bassist and got back into the physical world of drumming once again and formed the three member band "Northern Storm" with Chris Nelson and Bill Lawrence of "Noy-Z" gaining a lot of popularity performing Northern Michigan's "Woodstock" sharing the stage with "Electric Ladyland", "The Holey Cows", "Blackfoot" and many great Michigan and Canadian Rock bands. "Northern Storm" had three great years but just wasn't enough of "The Road" for Rob and was offered the drumming position with established Rock band "T-N-T" which was road enduring and parted in '98. Now currently bangin' the skins for hometown formed band "HARD DRIVE" and lovin' it!

Randy Middledorf - Guitar/Vocals

Native of Manistique Michigan, Gruduate of Manistique High School and Big Bay College with an R..N. degree. A self taught musician with lightning fast fingers on the lead guitar. Randy began playing with guitarist/Bassist Jim Meffer in 1999 and performed with various groups over the years had found themselves seeking a full fledged Rock band. Joining with Bob Mercier and Rob Canary to form "HARD DRIVE" Randy began with the group as strictly rhythm position but has exceled as the bands premier lead player and continues with a lot of originality on guitar and lead vocals.

Don Thoma - Lead Vocals

Native of Big Bay Michigan and Resident of Manistique Michigan. Don has been a popular figure within the community as former Radio personal and D.J. of WCCM and WTIQ. Don began his music career with the local bands "Triple Threat" and "Loki" in the 80's and later forming with Mick Taylor of "Slammer" to form "T-N-T" and becoming popular in the lower and upper peninsula of Michigan. Don began one of the areas best D.J. services with the DR Rythym Co. which he did for a few years. In 1999 being short in vocal area within the band "HARD DRIVE" Don was approached by the bands members and climbed aboard as the groups highlight front man with a powerful voice and attitude. His original vocal style has put the band into a very diverse position and originality.

Chris Nelson - Bass,Vocals,Keys

A talented musician over a broad range of instruments which include bass, guitar, keys, and great vocals. As new bassist and backing vocalist for HARD DRIVE. We feel Chris will be a great step up for the band musically. Former member of "Noy Z" "Northern Storm" and the "Rocket Brothers" with years of performing experience and on stage high energy, Chris is sure to start up the engines again for HARD DRIVE.
