Description:
The 4 members of the band all attended and graduated from Jackson County Comprehensive High School. They’ve always loved music and attended concerts together. All the guys had wanted to be in a band but they never seriously considered it. Sal, Louis, and Matt did a personal performance for someone in February of 2004 and they got the itch. Matt decided to buy a drumset and begin lessons. On February 29, 2004, Basement Thriftstore was born with a quick trip to Guitar Center to buy a drumset.
The guys got together and picked some simple songs that they attempt to play. Weezer covers were good for the band to start with and then they progressed. Soon came original songs and now Basement Thriftstore is ready to let everyone enjoy their music and have a good time. That’s what music means to them.
Band Members:
Will Dodd plays guitar most of the time and is the main vocalist. He is also a talented bassist and was originally picked for that reason, but things change. With experience in a bluegrass band and diverse musical interests and abilities, Will brings a great deal to the band. Comedy is something that Will has come to be known for. He currently attends Gainesville College.
Sal Randazzo plays lead guitar. He is a terrific musician and played euphonium in the JCCHS band. Love of music runs deep in the Randazzo family. He is very cultured in different types of music but loves rock. Tearing out impromptu solos and tearing riffs are what Sal is known for. He currently attends Georgia Tech.
Louis Romo plays bass most of the time and also lends his vocal talents. Louis originally played guitar but Will and him changed positions. Louis has a very distinct musical taste and brings that flavor to the band. An artist by nature, Louis is very creative and innovative. Sometimes he knows just what to say or play right when it is needed. He currently attends Gainesville College.
Matt Hayes plays drums. He is taking lessons to be better but has good influences in the likes of Josh Freese and Travis Barker. Matt’s parents are entrepaneurs and passed on to him a good business sense. From electronica to punk, Matt’s musical preferences are diverse. He currently attends Gainesville College.
