Band Members:
On October 31st 2003, Kevin Griffin and Mike Woodell left their band "Dream Within" to pursue other musical interests. The duo had figured out what kind of vocalist and guitarist they needed to complete their new sound. In late December, they began recruiting musicians that would fit the bill for the respective positions. After going through several potential band members, Mike and Kevin stumbled on vocalist Travis Leigh, and guitarist Mike Rogers. Travis Leigh had spent 3 years singing in Country and Bluegrass bands like "The Strangers". She then turned her talents towards the power and emotion of Rock with the bands "25th Hour", and "Temporary Setback" before being picked up by the former bassist and drummer of "Dream Within". Her singing is a passionate cross between Sheryl Crow, Tracy Bonham, and Gwen Stefani. Travis considers herself a passionate free spirited singer who thrives off of the response of a live audience. Mike Rogers started playing the banjo at age 8 in the mountains of western NC. A year later, he picked up the guitar and never put it down. Over time, Mike played all kinds of music from bluegrass to rock. His last band, "The Jackhonks", played Raleigh and Chapel Hill's alternative rock scene. The guitarist's chops come from a rythmically driving combination of acoustic flatpicker Tony Rice, and the fiery emotional bending of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan. Mike enjoys sharing his spirit and connecting with people via the universal language of music. Do not miss out on the hottest rock talent around! Tim Preston of the Sanford Herald states;” Calibur. A collection of talented musicians whose goal is to push the boundaries of musical standards and make a big splash into the southeast music scene.”
