Description:
A Ballad Alchemy is a very young band. The whole of us have only been together for maybe 6 months, but it seems like we've always been together in a way. I guess we'd be classified as "alternative." We have a pretty varied sound. Influences would be: Chris-vox: Maynard James Keenen, Robert Smith, Paul Simon, Rivers Cuomo. ect.. Jeremy/guitar: Issac Brock, Johnny Marr Joe Strummer, Bob Dylan Robert Smith ect. John/Bass: Geddy Lee, Eben D’Amico, Eric Judy, and Edgar Meyer Brad/Drums: Tim Alexander, Dan Hickey, Gene Krupa, and the drummers of Frank Zappa We all appreciate the music of Weezer, Modest Mouse, A Perfect Circle, The Cure, and They Might Be Giants, as well as memorable Nintendo theme songs. Our style is a mix of our various individual and collective influences. The over all sound that comes out might be a Weezeresque with a more laid back style reminiscent of some Modest Mouse. But our songs tend to range from one style to another, acoustic to moderately heavy electric. We had ideas of playing out a lot during high school but it wasn’t till recently with the addition of Brad that we decided it had to be done. This enthusiastic, crazy-eyed drummer sparked a new fire within us and now we are looking to play out as much as possible.
