Description:
Becoming Wheels is an up-and-coming progressive acoustic rock band with classical undertones, blending the styles of Dave Matthews, Coldplay, and U2. Brian Pieniazek blend of rasp and falsetto compliment his acoustic singer/songwriter tunes and percussive picking style. This interplays nicely with classically trained electric violinist Christine Brown's colorful lines, as well as lead acoustic/electric guitarist Justin Horne's rock/bluegrass/classical influenced color. Ryan Biegel's drums provide a solid backbone to the band's rhythm section, while bassist/producer Ryan Williams uses his jazz/metal background to lay some innovative, stylish backgrounds and soundscapes. The band is entering the studio this summer to record a new four song EP exclusively to be used to pursue record labels.
Band Members:
As founder of the band, lead singer/acoustic guitarist Brian Pieniazek was raised primarily on punk music, but soon changed his musical vision towards the styles of the Beatles, Radiohead, Pete Yorn, and Dave Matthews. He recruited drummer Ryan Biegel to be in Becoming Wheels, who had a background in punk, emo, and Brit pop. The two found classically trained violinist Christine Brown at a Keller Williams concert, and loved her classical background which was mixed with Charlie Daniels and Mark O'Connor. After recording a demo and playing around Tallahassee, the band picked up Justin Horne after he exited his previous hard rock outfit. His background in instrumental rock, metal, Spanish acoustic, classical, and bluegrass showed he was up for anything and so he brought everything he could to compliment Pieniazek's songwriting. When the band recorded their debut independent album, Dance Around A Thousand Things in early 2004, their producer, Ryan Williams, a childhood friend of Horne's, was recruited as their bass player. With his versatility on many instruments as well as his producing skills, Williams proved to be the last piece in the puzzle with a formidable background in jazz, metal, techno, and pop.
