Description:
Leather Pills is a Fast/Loud trio from San Francisco Ca. The bands music is intensely fast and deals with mostly urban topics like living downtown, not having enough and not fitting in! A Leather Pills show a hardcore experience for all the senses(usually including lights and Fog!!!!!) and that's exactly how the Pills want it, that's what makes for great Rock-n-Roll!!!! The band has been around since it's inception in 1999 by husband and wife artist/rocker's Sammy and Heather. The act has recorded and self produced both of it's CD releases, "Rats ep" in 2000 and "Eat The Pills"(12 blistering tracks in 15 scorching minutes!!) in 2003. "Eat" is sceduled for release in late spring 2004 on the bands own D.I.Y. label MusicforClosetLames, which also handles Sammy and Heather's other musical and artistic projects like the MCL Screenworks, the bands screenprinting operation. The band performs regularly around the bay area and way beyond and has played with band's like D.I. and Marky Ramone and the Speedkings!!!!
Band Members:
Sammy Chong has been around the SF scene sincearriving from Houston TX. in 1995 where Sammy had been enjoying his old bands place in the alternative rock scene there since 1987. After playing around in a few acts for a while, in 1997 Sammy helped form Anonymous Beef, a Punk/Metal bike messenger band that really solidified Sammy place in the scene. After AB, forming Leather Pills in 1999 with Heather was the obvious next step. Samm is a 2001 recording engineer grad. from California Recording Institute. He can also be found writing and recording with his alter ego called Closet Lames, which is more avant-garde than not!!!!! Heather S. has been a writer and painter since the her early day's in SoCal. She picked up the bass in 1998 and began jamming to lots and lots of Ramones tunes. Heather and Sammy would jam regularly with a drummer friend when a chance for a live gig happened to come the their way in 1999. Performing as The Heather Hills for a couple of gigs before settling on Leather Pills, the act and the musical partnership was off and running. Heather is a graduate of San Francisco State University. Joe Livingston, the hardest rocking drummer in town came out from Florida a couple of years ago and immediately hooked up with Samm and Heather. The act played it's first show with Joe only two weeks and a few rehearsals later. Joe can also been caught around town doing his DJ thang with his crew IN-Produtions!!!!!!!!
