Description:
The guitar riffs change from smooth grooves to commanding power, but always puts the listener in a trance. The singer is full of shivering emotional moods, heartfelt sensitivity and freight train howls. The rhythm section is soulful, always moving, and ready to break a song down to a gusty, emotional presence.
Band Members:
Blackbird Pond formed when singer/songwriters Jim Stoker (guitars) and Luisa-Mari Gonzales (vocals) created some catchy-blues inspired-grooves with backwoods inspired writings. They later met Sam Nacman (drums) adding his boom-boom right-foot and sassy high-hat techniques. The three (3) members created a sound that sounded like the past but rejuvenated.
Later the band added Mark G (keyboards) to the Blackbird Pond sound.
Blackbird Pond combines Rock-Alternative styles with classic-urban-Soul and freight train southern style attitudes.
