Description:
Nineteen 5 (N5) is a female fronted Seattle metal-tinged rock band. Thanks in part to a rapidly growing fan base and early exposure in local venues, Nineteen 5 are generating quite a buzz in the Puget Sound region. The band quietly formed during the Summer of 2001 and aggressively began performing (50+ shows) in area clubs early in 2002.
Described by fans as "a fresh Seattle Sound", Nineteen 5's raw energetic sound and musicianship have been likened to local ensembles Pearl Jam, Hammerbox, and Goodness. Lead singer Christine Wayne's strong, lyric voice and playful stage presence have also been labeled reminiscent of Ann Wilson, who Christine counts among her musical influences, as well as Janis Joplin, Siouxsie Sioux, and Stevie Nicks.
Nineteen 5's debut CD titled, "Blind Eye Gone" will be available this winter. While the CD undergoes production, the band will continue making live appearances.
The music remains true to the bands inception, June 2001. Drawing on the influences of the past to push their unique style into the future. The 'BEG' CD turned out FLIPPIN great!! Those that have been within ear range have expressed enthusiastic support.
