Description:
Illucinus formed in the Fall of 2007 in Redwood City, CA. The band incorporates aspects of jazz and progressive styles into their heavy metal. Illucinus released their self-produced EP, "The Machine", on 9/11/08 and from there embarked on playing local gigs to expose themselves.
"The Machine" (EP) features Illucinus in the ripening of their abilities. Larsen creates on-point drum blasts and fills; Oplatka and Stucky harmonize, shred, and destroy with their axes; Saltzman eats babies with his bass, and Jesse Stevens tops off the mix with his developed, intense vocal capabilities. Illucinus together creates a breed of death metal fusion that is musically intricate - melodic, progressive, and heavy - a very memorable combination.
