Description:
The Griswolds formed in 1996. Played Philly's famous Trocadero's main stage on different occasions with Goldfinger, The Muffs, Dance Hall Crashers and Dog Eat Dog. They also opened for Def Tones and Handsome at The Khyber in Philly. (Along with many many firehall and dive-bar shows) The Griswolds disbanded in 1999, just before the release of "Life in a Plastic World" due to drummer problems. In 2000, Johnny and Bill, along with ex-members of Scrapple (Wilkes-Barre), formed a rock and roll / hardcore band called The Red Tops. After a great two year run with The Red Tops, playing major venues with bigger bands (although, they WERE hardcore bands), Johnny decided to leave the Red Tops in order to focus MORE on rock and roll and LESS on hardcore. In 2002 the Griswolds came back! With the addition of Brian Jonez on bass and Rich Scarano on drums they became know as LOS Griswolds with a Rock n' Roll sound and a Cowpunk feel. 2003 was a good year for Los Griswolds starting it off with a 4 track demo under their belt they rocked out numerous venues not only in the Philadelphia region but all around the east coast with shows in NJ, MD, VA and showcased their act at the Heavy Rebel Weekender in NC and at the Johnny Cash tribute show in NYC. Now with the release of "Bring the Rock!" look out for them to do just that in a town near you.
