Description:
Waffle's identity is distinguished by their trademark sound consisting of dual "in your face" guitars, well crafted rhythms and percussion, and brilliant vocals with harmonies that are lyrically understandable and very appealing to the masses.
Band Members:
Waffle was formed in the late 90’s by a pair of brothers, Brian (Guitar) and Euclid Hart Jr. (Bass), and Travis (Drums) and Curtis L. Ray (Guitar). Since their inception, this group has clicked both musically and personally...giving it that key ingredient which is clearly identified in their music and live show.
Waffle, which generated it’s name from their uncanny ability to “flip-flop” musical styles from song to song, has never been accused of creating music that all sounds the same. In fact, the band takes pride in being able to pound out their own brand of vocally hook laden and guitar-oriented rock without tunnel vision.
Now based out of Dallas, TX after years in the Oklahoma City area, Waffle has toured extensively in the region and has released two albums to date with the third ("Stimulus") scheduled for release in early 2004.
The band's first release was their independent fourteen track, self-titled debut, "Waffle". That album produced the regional hit "Wildflower", garnering radio airplay on several rock radio stations throughout the Southwestern United States.
"Waffle" was followed up by the popular four track EP, "Daisy Chain." Two tracks from “Daisy Chain” were selected to appear on various nationally distributed compilation CD’s. Live, on-air radio performances and interviews followed as well as interest from several labels as the band was consistently added to major concert billings.
Currently, Waffle is putting the finishing touches on recording and producing their brand new album titled “Stimulus." It is slated for release in June of 2004 on the independent label, Earshot Records.
Waffle has shared the bill with several top national and regional acts including Kid Rock, Tonic, Sloth, Slobberbone, Seven Mary Three, Candlebox, Big Wreck, Econoline Crush, Stabbing Westward, Mayfield Four, Local H, Soak, Bob Schneider, Monster Magnet, and more.
