Description:
Mortal Wrath was formed in August 2008 by drummer Chris Grapes and guitarist Michael Kirby. Donnie Moore and Mike Berg were then brought in on bass and vocals to complete the lineup. In March 2011 there was a lineup change and we brought in Tommy Fields on vocals!
Our music comes to you from the forests and mountains of West Virginia in a little town called Romney. Our fascination with sacred geometry, quantum mechanics, and the esoteric create a wide variety of topics for fans to explore. Nature, world history, and politics also stand firm in our musical expression. Classic heavy metal structures fused with progressive arrangements and melodic vocals best describe our style.
Virtuoso guitars driven to life by a relentless rythym force add texture and melody to the sound of Mortal Wrath. Banishment of bad vibrations while applying positive frequencies to our music and lives daily. Good vibes and prog!! We are in serious need of management, representation, promotion, booking, and recording label however we are working on a very low budget from our home recording studio.
Three 45 minute sets of oringinals - constantly learning and writing - seven days weekly. Songs are on our pages recorded from our home studio. http://MortalWrath.com - www.Myspace.com/MortalWrath - www.Facebook.com/MortalWrath - http://youtube.com/ShredMetalMike
Band Members:
Michael Kirby – guitars Nefarious shredding, epic arpeggios, spectacular sweeps and virtuoso solos define Michael Kirby’s spell binding style. A student of his talented father, Dave, Mike has evolved from a fast fretter to an articulate, passionate and aggressive shredder. Beyond his guitar work, Michael influences Mortal Wrath and their fans with his peaceful and positive character. This character shines through with his playing and songwriting as well as creative artist ideas. Mike wishes to establish himself and Mortal Wrath as one of the standards of American Power Metal. Michael is most influenced by Kiko Loureiro, Rob Marcello, John Petrucci, Rafael Bittencourt, Steve Vai, Rusty Cooley, Michael Angelo Batio, Ron Jarzombek, Dimebag, and Dave Mustaine.
Donnie Moore – bass The youngest member of the band, Donnie Moore is an inspiring breath of fresh air to the elders of Mortal Wrath. Equipped with a low frequency tapping style, Donnie’s bass brings a powerful unique rhythmic mainframe for Mike Kirby’s guitars. Together with the kicks, smooth and epic, Donnie helps to bring the force of classic metal power and heaviness required in a single guitar outfit. Donnie’s influences include John Myung, Alex Webster, Felipe Andreoli, Ryan Martinie, Victor Wooten and Chuck Rainey.
BIO COMING SOON FOR OUR SINGER TOMMY FIELDS
Chris Grapes – drums Single minded and focused on the creative direction, Chris brings stability and positive reinforcement to the brothers of Mortal Wrath. Perilous, pacadermic, perpetual percussion elements of progressive, jazz, thrash and all out classic power metal encompasses his drumming character. Striving to exploit the brilliance of Mike Kirby and his rhythm partner, Donnie Moore, seek not to overwhelm but to compliment and provide brutal direction. Chris also contributes backing vocals as well as being the primary lyricist. Chris’s influences range from Aquiles Priester, Mike Portnoy, Gene Hoglan, Marcelo Moreira and Scott Travis.
