Description:
The Silent Rumor, also referred to as TSR, are from the good old city of Chesapeake, Virginia. They are basic alternative rock and attract a wide variety of people into their audience. They derive their influence mostly from Nirvana, Incubus, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, Weezer, 3 Doors Down, and Mudhoney.
The Silent Rumor first formed as a band in December 2002, which was, at that time, known as COJC. Their first gig was on December 18, 2004, playing at a Christmas party under the name, The Whom. Since then they have shared the stage with numerous bands, including Aneurysm, Another Day Awaits and Anno Domini. They have played at several large parties, such as the Quillins’ Halloween party with over 120 people in the audience and Guitar-B-Q, the annual mini-fest for local bands. Other notable shows include the Epicenter Band Bash on January 28, 2006.
The Silent Rumor’s most well known songs are “Run and Hide,” “Generations,” and “Fade Away.” “Run and Hide” has a catchy melody that often heard chanted in the halls of the high school. It is the band’s signature song. “Generations” is the heaviest in the set so far written by TSR. “Fade Away” is both a band and fan favorite. It will most likely become their first single when the song is studio- recorded.
The Silent Rumor has recently started experimenting with live recordings from their shows by releasing the “In Your Backyard” series bootlegs.
The Silent Rumor are looking forward to many prosperous years together as they continue to gain a reputation and build a strong fan base both in and out of their local area.
