Sol Fonky, a Charlotte-based band, combines influences from Miles Davis, Dave Matthews, Outkast, Ben Harper, Ben Folds Five, the golden oldies, and modern rock. In their brief existence, they have embarked on a path of high energy, groove-oriented, folk/hop sound, and that is exactly what one will find at a Sol Fonky show.
Sol Fonky is a band that transcends musical boundaries. Fans of rock, jazz, reggae, folk, funk, and even hip/hop can find common ground within Sol Fonky’s music. Their main appeal is to the music fan, and to take music back from commercial radio and MTV and give it to the fans.
