Description:
Brianne Bassetto – singer, songwriter, and guitarist – played in a few rock bands over the past five years. Her former band, Velvateen, made some noise in the Chicago rock scene in 2001 before departing after a resounding, packed-house show at Chicago’s Hard Rock Café. After leaving Velvateen, Brianne needed time to collect her thoughts and write new material. Emboldened by the freedom of writing alone and unrestricted for the first time (and similarly encouraged by the results), Brianne felt the time was right to begin anew. She contacted Kurt Schoenfielder (bassist) and Tim Macklin (drummer), both formerly of Velvateen. Soon thereafter she recruited Phil Kondos to play lead guitar, thus rounding out the lineup for what would be her most heart-felt, sincere, and ambitious project yet.
Hunkering down in the studio to record their full album, “Get in Line,” the result was a blend of melodic vocals, earnest lyrics, and aggressive guitars. Meticulously produced by Brianne and Phil Kondos, these new songs are a revealing composition of Brianne’s unique perspectives on bittersweet relationships and life in general.
