Band Members:
Since their formation while students at Kenyon College in rural Ohio, King Wilkie has won broad acclaim for their fine musicianship, high energy act, and infectious enthusiasm. King Wilkie delivers their own mix of traditional bluegrass songs and homespun originals in the bluegrass vein. Their use of one microphone, recalling the early days of bluegrass, requires clever choreography for harmonies and dynamics and adds a wonderful visual element to the live show. The band has been well received by both bluegrass devotees and non-bluegrass listeners, and has opened for national acts such as Toots and The Maytals, The Slip, and Moe. Upon graduation from college in the spring of 2001, the band packed their belongings, transplanted to the Blue Ridge Mountain area, and is currently based around Charlottesville, Virginia .
