Description:
If you’ve seen Lawton perform you know they are all about kickin' it hard. If you haven't been to a Lawton show you should because seeing is believing. Lawtons mission is to make every person who comes to an event feel as though they are with the band. After all, the audience is as much a part of the performance as the performers themselves. Featuring 7000 watts of sound reinforcement, full stage lighting, and a ferocious energy, Lawton gives its fans what they want, a concert.
Lawton is not a typical rock band. The cover song selection is eclectic and spans many genre of rock. The original compositions are radio worthy and poignant. You won't find any 17 year old kids screaming about wanting to kill themselves, or the end of the world in Lawton. What you will find is four seasoned musicians who write songs that mean something to them and hopefully touch a part of your soul as well.
The bands namesake and original bass player Van Lawton passed away unexpectedly 10/14/09, which prompted the guys to rename the band in his honor. Refusing to give up, the surviving members continue to create and play the music Van loved so much. Then rhythm guitarist Tarn Petty took over the low end and has excelled at it. Hoping for a release date in the early spring of 2011, Lawton is currently in the studio recording their as yet untitled debut CD. The music will be distributed worldwide independently while management shops for a label.
Recorded music aside, the live show is where it’s at with Lawton. Getting out there to share their music and energy with fans is the main reason for Lawton’s existence. Playing a good mix of covers and originals the band loves rockin’ it out with other groups from the area to give fans a full night of live music much like going to an arena. No hype, just go see ‘em!
