The New London (CT) Day calls Chris Castle "a visionary songwriter" while Folk Alley has dubbed him "a rising Americana stand-out". Nolan Menderhall (bassist- Joan Baez, Chuck Berry) described Castle's January 2009 performance at the Ark (Ann Arbor, MI) as "a fistful of stunning songs and a truth serum voice". Bob McCarthy (guitarist- Tommy Makem) calls Chris "one of the best songwriters in the US" and Cleveland Magazine describes his music as "an authentic connection to the world-weary soul of American roots music".
