Description:
Music is often born with a creative concept and a mastermind. It goes through several stages of molting before the final product is created, but in the end it becomes a beautiful creature of mystique and intrigue.
Ataraxy is a combination of concepts starting with a band called B.H.B.T. (Bob Has Bitch Tits) and ZephyruS. ZephyruS recorded two demos entitled Floccinaucinhilpilification and Weird Is the Norm. However, after a year, four shows and line up changes in the double digits, ZephyruS went its separate ways, leaving behind the important songs of San Francisco and Within My Clasp.
Shortly after the disbandment of ZephyruS, Ataraxy forms and creates assorted guitar demos, 8 to be exact, the concept was short lived, existing from 2003 to 2005 but the music gave birth to the mysterious fellow known as Jack Willowbee. Starting with the old Ataraxy song "The Silver Spectrum", and adding it to the cd entitled, The Rise and Fall of Jack Willowbee. This song took two and half years to finish being that it is an impressive 22 and half minutes long.
After the end of Ataraxy, Jason Lehman meets Dr. Rob Job and learns the art of recording. The Rise and Fall of Jack Willowbee, was officially released on 6/6/06 and is Ataraxy Records first official release. Two more releases are planned for this year as Jason Lehman, Jimmy Krepp and Matt Moss of ZephyruS reunite to record acoustic versions of every ZephyruS song ever. This will take place in August of 06. Finally, Jack Willowbee will be releasing his second album entitled 1982 scheduled to be released in November completely self produced on Ataraxy Records.
