Description:
It began in 2003 and hasn't stopped since. Bill and Josh met through a mutual friend in the spring of '03. They had both wanted to start a band, so they figured why not? Bill sent Josh some lyrics and in a day, Josh had music for them. He played his stuff for Bill not shortly after (much to the nervousness of Josh), and Missing Point was born. Oh yeah, and Bill came up with the name. Songs were being formed slowly but surely and the band seemed to have a grasp on where they were going...or at least where they wanted to be going. Bill enlisted the aid of his friend Dan to fill out the basslines but during the band's writing stages Dan left the band with no hard feelings. That put *MP* at a performance stand-still until they could find someone to fill the shoes, although they never stopped writing. Josh had met Tom through a summer job and the followig summer they got to talking about jamming. One day Josh brought him to a practice just for the hell of it. Turns out it was enough to get him into the band. His bass didn't even work. By the time Tom had joined the band, Missing Point had 6 songs already written with quite a few more on the way. Amazingly enough, for never having played the bass as a primary instrument, and after long night sessions with Josh teaching him basslines at his house, Tom started learning the songs. During that period over the summer of '04, they even started working on new material, which would later become Missing Point standards. Now Missng Point is playing out, and soon we'll be coming to a venue near you....that's right, you.
