Description:
Influenced by classic sounds from the 60's and 70's rock music, Straight Avenue Band offers a new perspective to Christian Rock music, incorporating the B3 organ, electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums, and an assortment of unconventional instruments, packaged with an awesome message of hope.
Band Members:
Straight Avenue Band is comprised of songwriters, Cheryl Knocke, and husband and wife, Charles and Sharon Urban. Cheryl, the band's lead singer, also plays acoustic guitar. Charles plays a variety of electric guitars and guitar amps. Sharon sings vocals, plays B3 organ and various other instruments. Randy Neill sings vocals, plays bass guitar, and Todd Truitt plays the drums. The band's producer is Lee Lundgren.
Some of the band's primary influences are Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Lucinda Williams, the Beatles, and Rich Mullins. Straight Avenue Band has a passion for sharing its faith experiences through music, and has influenced people of all ages.
